Carmel High School, Hindi Medium, Bokaro is situated in Bokaro Thermal with Govindpur C.C.L. Colony on one side and B.T.P.S. (D.V.C.) area on the other side. D.V.C. is the first ever multipurpose river valley project of independent India which came into being on 7 July. 1948.

Carmel High School was set up with the intent of promoting the values of Christ, in this valley region. Carmel High School has already established its existence for more than five decades in perfect harmony in spite of facing lots of difficulties. It has effectively contributed to social integration in the C.C.L. Colony, D.V.C. and B.T.P.S. area.

Students come from nearby areas of Govindpur and Bokaro Thermal, and from further areas by bus from 6th unit, Phase II, Konar Dam, Naya Basti, Kathara Colliery, Jarandih, Sunday Bazar, Jaridi Bazar, Jhirky Basti and Khetako.

Carmel High School has been transmitting the Gospel Values to them. No doubt during the course of the last 62 years the school has undergone a sea of changes. Yet it has maintained it’s leading role in this region adapting itself to the challenges of the time.

The school is affiliated to Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi. The Minority Right declaration has been obtained on 11.4.1978.

At present the strength of students from Class VI to X is 677 and the faculty strength is 24.

The blessings of the Almighty are with us and we hope that the institution will grow and impart the values of Christ by taking care of the poor and the marginalized of the society.
