Carmel School. Deoli, Govindpur was established on 26th February 2019. It is situated in Deoli, Govindpur, Dhanbad area in the Diocese of Jamshedpur.

The land for Carmel School, Deoli, was bought in the year 2013, at the initiative of Dr. Sister Margaret Mary, A.C, the then Principal of Carmel School, Dhanbad, with the help and blessings of her management, Sister Lily D’Souza, A.C the then Provincial Superior of the Apostolic Carmel of the Northern Province.

The first batch of children were admitted to L.K.G in the year 2018, this first batch was accommodated at Carmel School Dhanbad. The first batch had 15 children in all.

The school building was completed in February 2019 and it was inaugurated on February 26, 2019, by the Provincial Superior, Dr. Doris D’ Souza , A.C. Dr. Sister Margaret Mary, A.C. was appointed as the School’s first Manager and The Principal for the Year 2019-2020. The total number of children for the year 2019-2020 was 41.

In March 2020, Sister Severine A.C., took over as the Principal of the School. At present we have 60 children and it has gone up to STD II. The school is housed in a spacious and well planned building, with large well-ventilated classrooms. The classrooms are equipped with Interactive smart boards and other study materials. The school is placed in an area of six acres of land and is in the process of developing the grounds for Primary School, the High School and +2 buildings and the necessary infrastructure required for the same.

The school places importance on recruiting well qualified teachers who are conversant in the English language and have the other necessary qualities to deal with children. Carmel has spacious playgrounds and the school management ensures that the entire school surroundings are maintained with the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. There is an indoor courtyard for the use of the tiny tots.
