Kumari Udyan Girls’ Inter College, Kanpur, U.P.

On 15 July, 1954 the school was established and was named Fatima Convent Junior High School. The girls from St. Xavier’s High School were transferred to the Fatima Convent Junior High School. A few boys also were taken in by this school. It was a co-ed English medium school of 765 students from K.G. to VIII. The Government of Uttar Pradesh accorded its recognition to Fatima Convent Junior High School from VI to VIII for its excellent performance in curricular and non curricular activities and the school was enlisted among recognized schools in March, 1955. It was renamed as Kumari Udyan Vidyalaya. Gradually in 1957 recognition was granted for classes IX to X and in 1994 Intermediate recognition was granted, at the moment there is of U. P. Board recognition for classes VI to XII.

The school is well established with modern amenities, well furnished computer laboratory with L.C.D. projectors, a spacious and well maintained library with 15,000 reference books in all the subjects, a large auditorium with modern equipments, audio-visual room with L.C.D. projectors, well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories to put into practice what the students have learnt in theory classes. Smart classes were introduced to make class room teaching more interesting and lively. The strength of the college from class VI to XII is 1240 and has a faculty of 55 teaching and non-teaching well trained, loyal and dedicated staff catering to the demands of the growing modern students.

Sister Cleopha A.C. was the first Principal of Kumari Udyan Vidalaya in 1956 after which Sister Carisia A.C. took charge as Principal of the school in 1962. Sister M. Noreen A.C. was the third Principal of the Inter College in 1992.
